  There are two historic cemeteries in close proximity to each other. Both from the 1800's. The Garvin Cemetery is located at 4000 W. NW Hwy. and in the back accessable only from the Bachman Creek Greenbelt Park is 4002 W. NW Hwy which is a Black Cemetery the early pioneer John Cochran gave to Elm Thicket's black community in 1894. They are both zoned comercial but have been shielded from development so far. To learn more Google:
